Assumption of Duties of the New Chairman of the National Youth Services Council

 

  Dr. Thiran De Silva has assumed duties yesterday (2022.06.02) as the 27th Chairman of the National Youth Services Council in the presence of Hon. Roshan Ranasinghe, the minister of Youth & Sports, and Mr. Anuradha Wijekoon, the Secretary to the Ministry of Youth & Sports at the National Youth Services Council premises, Maharagama.

 

Dr. Thiran De Silva has completed his education at the Ananda College, Colombo and Panadura Royal College and he has graduated from the Swinburne University, Australia on Information Systems with a First Class. He completed his Masters’ Degree from the Charles Stuarts University, Australia. Dr. Thiran De Silva obtained his PhD from Central Queensland University, Australia, when he was 26 years old. Currently he is reading for his second PhD in Geoinformatics at the University of Peradeniya.

 

Being the youngest Brigadier and the youngest Director General of the Sri Lanka Armed Forces, Dr. Thiran has currently acting as the Founder and the CEO of the Celata Tech Private Limited.

 

With more than 21 years of industry experience in Executive Management in ICT, Banking and Finance, Defense, and Education, Dr. Thiran has marked excellence in each industry with the highest recognition.

 

Dr. Thiran De Silva stated that being a role model to other government Heads during the current situation of the country, he will not be taking any allowance or benefit from the National Youth Services Council and he expects to serve his best in creating young entrepreneurs in the Country and a Youth free from dependent mentality.
