Assumption of duties of the newly appointed Chairman/Director General
Mr. Pasindu Gunarathna assumed duties as the Chairman/ Director General of the National Youth Services Council on 22.03.2023 as the 31st Chairman/Director General after following the religious rites.
Twenty-Five-year-old Mr. Pasindu Gunarathna has completed his BEng (Hons) Degree in Civil and Infrastructure Engineering from Kingston University and his BSc (Hons) Degree in Quantity Surveying and Construction from De Montfort University in the United Kingdom.
Currently, he is following a Degree in Economics at the University of Sabaragamuwa and is a Student at the Sri Lanka Law College.
Being the Deputy Head Boy in 2017 of the Royal College, Colombo 07, Mr. Pasindu Gunarathna has performed a leading role as an old student, and he was highly recognized for his commitment to Community Services and Youth Development since then.
As the President of the Lions Club, Colombo 07, he has done a commendable service to the public lives.
The Occasion was held with the patronage of Hon. Roshan Ranasinghe, the Minister of Sports & Youth Affairs, and the participation of Mr. Randula Abeweera, the Presidential Director of Youth Affairs and Sustainable Development, Mr.K.Mahesan, the Secretary to the Ministry of Sports & Youth Affairs, Mr. Saman Waduge, the Additional Secretary to the Ministry, Dr. Thiran De Silva, the former Chairman/ Director General of the National Youth Services Council, Mr. Tharindu Naveen, Secretary of the Sri Lanka Federation of Youth Clubs, Mr. Pathum Ranasinghe, Prime Minister of the Sri Lanka Youth Parliament, the Directors, Deputy Directors, Assistant Directors and the officials of the Staff of the National Youth Services Council.
